Michigan vs Maryland (4:00pm)

Updated: Mar 7

Michigan grabbed my attention this morning! If there's an underdog on the betting board that I'd put my money on, it's definitely Michigan. Despite facing challenges like the suspension of star player Dug McDaniel due to academic reasons and Coach Juwan Howard returning from heart surgery, I think they are being undervalued.

In contrast, Maryland has been going through a rough patch lately, losing two consecutive games. Despite holding a 9-6 overall record this year, they have a disappointing 4-11 record against the spread this season. What baffles me is why they are favored by -6.5 points. Examining their head-to-head history with the Wolverines, Maryland has only won twice in the last ten matchups, casting doubt on their ability to cover such a spread.

This game offers a favorable opportunity for Michigan to bounce back and regain momentum in their season. The Wolverines have consistently performed well in the head-to-head series, winning and covering the spread in five of the last six meetings, including an impressive 81-46 victory in one of last season's matchups. Despite recent struggles, Michigan has covered the spread in six of their last eight road games, reinforcing my belief in their potential to excel in this contest.
