Expect another low-scoring affair today, much like yesterday! Both pitchers have been in excellent form. James Taillon has been particularly impressive this season, highlighted by his recent outing where he tossed six scoreless innings against the Brewers, allowing only two hits, two walks, and striking out seven. What's even more remarkable is his consistent run prevention, conceding just an average of one run per game in his last four starts. Taillon boasts a solid track record against the Braves, holding a 1-0 record with a 2.50 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 18 innings in his three career starts against them. Similarly, Chris Sale has been on a winning streak, securing victories in his last four starts for the Braves. In his recent three starts, Sale has given up just two runs across 18 innings of work. His history against the Cubs is equally impressive, with a 2-1 record and an impressive 1.23 ERA in five career appearances, three of which were starts. It's difficult to see either offense having much success against these formidable pitchers tonight.
Notably, SportsInsights currently reports that over 91% of the tickets and 90% of the money are on the Over, despite this heavy one-sided betting activity, the total hasn't shifted. This disparity raises a significant flag. Furthermore, the Braves have participated in 36 games with an over/under set, only crossing the over threshold in 13 of those games when considering their combined scores with opponents. According to my analysis, this game is projected to conclude with no more than 7 runs scored.
