Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers (10:00am)

This is one of my favorite spots on the board because I believe Green Bay has the most important advantage in this matchup: Jordan Love against a Chicago defense that plays directly into his strengths. With the Packers catching +1.5 at Lambeau Field, I think Green Bay has an excellent chance not only to cover the number but to win this game outright.

Jordan Love is the Biggest Mismatch

The quarterback difference is where this handicap starts. Chicago is expected to start Tyson Bagent with Caleb Williams unavailable because of his hamstring injury. Bagent played efficiently in Chicago's previous game, but going on the road into Lambeau Field against a divisional rival is a completely different challenge. The Bears lose a significant amount of explosiveness at quarterback without Williams, and that makes it much more difficult for Chicago to keep pace if Green Bay starts generating chunk plays offensively. On the other side, Love has consistently played some of his best football against Chicago. Entering this matchup, Love owned a 113.2 career passer rating against the Bears, the highest by any quarterback with at least 150 attempts against Chicago, and his 13 touchdown passes against the Bears were his most against any opponent. In five previous starts he completed and finished against Chicago, Love had thrown for roughly 1,400 yards with 13 touchdowns against only two interceptions.

Green Bay has the offensive firepower to force Chicago away from its preferred run-heavy approach. If Jordan Love creates a few early explosive plays and the Packers build a lead, the Bears will have to rely more on the passing game, which favors Green Bay.That quarterback matchup is a major edge. I trust Love much more than Tyson Bagent in a game where both teams are forced to throw, and a predictable Chicago offense would also allow Green Bay’s pass rush to become more aggressive.

The situation also favors the Packers at Lambeau. Green Bay has extra motivation in a key divisional matchup, while Chicago is without Caleb Williams and its leading rusher. With Love’s history of success against Chicago, improved pass protection and multiple vertical threats, I expect Green Bay to control the game through the air and eventually force the Bears into an uncomfortable game script.
