Tampa Bay Rays vs Toronto Blue Jays (12:07pm)

Tampa Bay has consistently dominated Toronto this season, and the first three games of this current series have been relatively low-scoring, with the Rays securing a 4-2 victory on Wednesday. Toronto is struggling to generate any offense in this series, making it challenging to predict the Blue Jays ability to inflict enough damage to push the game over the posted total.
Ian Seymour’s surface-level 4.79 ERA is higher than you would typically want for an under, but his 1.17 WHIP is solid. He has issued only 26 walks in 67.2 innings, limiting free baserunners to generate big innings. The biggest concern is his home-run susceptibility, but the Blue Jays are having difficulty putting together multiple big innings.
On the other side, Shane Bieber carries a 5.70 ERA through five starts, but the small sample makes that number mean less important. If Bieber can provide even five competitive innings, the game has a lower-scoring script, particularly if Toronto’s offense continues its recent struggles. The Blue Jays have lost five of six on their current homestand, while Tampa Bay has already won the first three games of this series.
The strongest argument for the Under is ultimately the number. At 8.5, you can survive a 5-3 or 4-4 game and still cash. With Toronto’s offense struggling to create consistent pressure and Seymour showing solid control, this matchup has a reasonable path to something like 4-3 or 5-2.
