Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers (10:05am)

The Detroit Tigers will have last year's Cy-Young Award winner Rick Porcello (1-0) 4.26 ERA) coming back to Comerica! He's coming off a vintage outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates where he tossed six scoreless frames. Porcello's overall line (6 1/3 innings, six hits, three earned runs, one walk, five strike out). He starts this season with a 1-0 record 4.32 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.

The Tigers will have left-hander Daniel Norris making his first start of the season. Norris made two previous starts against the Redsox, both at Comerica. He didn't do so well in their last matchup where he got stung for three runs on nine hits in 5 innings in a losing effort to Drew Pomeranz. He's 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA against the Boston Redsox in his career.

At first glace I gave the Redsox the slight edge in this matchup but after some digging around I changed my mind about the game. Boston has historically done pretty bad against left handed pitchers and I think it will give the Tigers the edge to sneak away with a victory. Last year the Redsox were only batting .282 against left handed pitchers and they will be facing a Tigers team that has historically done very well against right handed pitches. The Tigers last season were batting .326 against rightieslast sea I think it's safe to say we have a slight advantage here at home with Detroit.

4 Redsox 6 Tigers

Best of luck!
