Johnny Cueto enters the 2017 season after dominating 2016 season where he finished 18-5 with a 3.23 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. Cueto pitched some of his best stuff in last year's playoffs against the Chicago Cubs. He went 8 innings only allowing 3 hits and one run against Chicago. San Francisco will be seeking revenge today in game 2 of a three-game series against Arizona.
Patrick Corbin gets the nod for the Diamondbacks as he looks to help his team remain unbeaten on the season. Corbin is looking to have a turn around season after having an abysmal 5.15 ERA in 2016 where he only went 5-13 in 155.2 innings of work. Although Corbin hasn't pitched well against the rest of the league he has relatively pitched very well against San Francisco.
The total for this game is currently set at 9 runs. I personally thought the total was set a little too low by the oddsmakers today. I personally had this handicapped at 10 runs so if I were the oddsmakers I would of set the total to 9.5 runs. More than 68% of the public is currently betting on the Under and I feel it's because the public is overvaluing how well Cueto will pitching tonight. Cueto posted a 4.13 ERA against the Diamondbacks last season so tonight won't be any cakewalk. Jake Lamb from the Diamondbacks is batting ,308 with five homers against the Giants. We have all the makings of an Over tonight, both teams are more than capable going over 9 runs tonight. Look for a close game in the first few innings then an offensive explosion midway through the game to go over the posted total.
7 Giants 4 Diamondbacks
Best of luck!
