Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants (12:35pm PST)

The San Francisco Giants closed the gap on the Dodgers in the NL West as they beat the Brewers on Monday. Brandon Crawford hit a home run, Matt Duffy had three hits, and Hunter Pence had a hit as the Giants scored four runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Christopher Heston allowed five hits and two runs while striking out four over 7.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 11-5 as SergioRomo earned his second save. For Tuesday’s game the Giants start Matt Cain who has allowed 22 hits and 10 earned runs while striking out 20 over 22 innings for a 2-1 record and a 4.09 ERA.
The Milwaukee Brewers trailed all the way on Monday as they lost to the Giants in San Francisco. Khris Davis had two hits and Jonathan Lucroy and Gerrardo Parra each had hits as the Brewers scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Lohse allowed five hits and four runs over 6.2 innings for a 5-12 record and a 6.24 ERA. For Tuesday’s game the Brewers start Wily Peralta who has allowed 63 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 35 over 54 innings for a 1-5 record and a 4.00 ERA.
San Francisco is 5-0 as a favorite, 12-1 in their last 13 games, and 5-13 in Cain’s last 18 home starts. Milwaukee is 6-23 against the National League West, 1-5 in their last six road games, and 1-6 in Peralta’s last seven starts as an underdog. Milwaukee is 0-7 in their last seven games against San Francisco.
I look for the Giants to continue their timely hitting and to get the job done here but the odds here make this one tough to bet.
Pick: San Francisco Giants ML (-110)
Goodluck!
