Tonight we look into the total of runs that will be scored between the Athletics/Giants game. The total opened at 7 and has remained at the same total through out the day. The Giant's offense is finally clicking, they have now scored 34 runs since the All Star break. Jake Peavy will be on the mound for San Francisco tonight. After losing his first three starts he snuck out a win this past weekend against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Oakland Athletics will have Jesse Chavez pitching tonight. He snapped a three start losing streak last week against the Twins. With the recent struggles of the Athletic's offense he hasn't received much run support to win some close games. On the road this year, Chavez has given up over 26 runs, 24 of them earned.
Both teams have under .500 pitchers on the mound tonight, look for plenty of offense. With both starting pitchers having high WHIPs combined I see plenty of opportunities for both teams to score. The Giants in the last ten games have hit over .299 against right handed pitchers! Chavez will definitely have his hands full tonight.
While the Athletics have been struggling, only hitting .194 against righties I look for the law of average to even out tonight. Peavy, from the Giants has given up over four home runs this season so the Athletics will need to take advantage of this. Over is 7-1-3 in Athletics last 11 interleague road games vs a right-handed starter.
Pick: Over 7 (-110)
